Well, it was VERY wet this week, so we didn’t get to do much in the garden. But we still managed to make good use of our time. Sunday the boys (my hubby with our son, Tommy) used the excavator to top up a couple garden beds and finish topping the inground section of the garden. And while they did that I harvested Marigold flowers.

Next, we sorted the flowers so that we had the wilted flowers in a pile separate from the flowers with fresh blossoms. We then harvested the seeds, dried them out and bagged them, and hung the remaining blossoms to dry for harvesting seed from later.

I’d like to cut down the remaining row of marigold plants and cover that area with new compost to have it prepped for next year. We also need to trim down and harvest more calendula flowers, so will likely do that this week.
